Due to the inherent nature of their design, many of today's modern, large structures are not adequately protected against smoke and fire. Features like large
atriums, vast open areas and high ceilings can make the use of traditional smoke and fire detection methods impractical, ineffective and difficult to maintain and operate. High airflow
and smoke stratification can prevent smoke from reaching spot-type smoke detectors , adding to the ineffectiveness of traditional fire detection in open area facilities.
FSM-8 Processing Unit
The FSM-8 Processing Unit is a DVR-based solution for flame, smoke and intrusion detection. Designed to be used in places where analog cameras are already in place, the FSM-8 allows you the same flame detection and storage capabilities of the SigniFire IP™/FSM-IP™ combination, but with a resulting lower resolution and image quality.

The FSM-8 Processing Unit uses same algorithms as SigniFire IP and can process
the video signals
from up to 8 analog CCTV cameras. Similarly it can be used in conjunction with SpyderGuard and SpyderPanel software.
